About Us

The short story
Home & Kids Co. originated in the hearts and minds of husband and wife Jane and John Hays when the first inklings of this idea sprang to life in 2016 in Hong Kong over a discussion about food prices, oddly enough, when dining out. It began with the first phrase: to create happy homes and joyful childhoods. From the start, we have been dedicated to offering our customers the highest quality furniture, home decor, window treatments, and interior designs that create a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere for any home.
We are confident you will find something special for your home here. Home & Kids Co. designs and sources original and vintage designs to make your house a home because your dream home starts with y-o-u. We are proud of our commitment to quality, customer service, and design excellence.
We ❤️ our customers and greatly appreciate you getting to know us better. Please don't hesitate to ask if there's anything we can do to help you.
Working on Being Different Enough to be Remarkable
The Three Pillars
Quality. Style. Savings.
As you may have seen elsewhere on the site while browsing, to create happy homes and joyful childhoods was the first phrase and simple initial objective used to define Home & Kids Co.'s entrance into the furniture and home decor market. Three underlying pillars were subsequently formed to define and support the organization's identity.
Quality, style, and savings are three areas of the market we aim to address, and in doing so the three words have developed into guideposts externally and internally that have helped form the higher level just cause of the company. But what does that really mean? We invite you to find out more and know that there is real substance behind our words.
To reiterate, our singular primary objective is to delight our customers at every opportunity and, through that delight, transmit joy to all who are there to receive it.

Quality.
Quality is defined as the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something. This word and its definition are the cornerstone of our entire business. Quality must be reflected in everything we do, from our work quality to our packaging to our products. Home & Kids Co. will not compromise on quality in any way as long as it is fiscally responsible and within the company's means.

Style.
We will not sacrifice style, beauty, timeless design, or on-trend offerings to save costs. As our just cause explains, this company’s entire existence is to provide desirable styles and designs. This company will not revert to boring, unappealing, or purely utilitarian furniture for the sake of ease of access, reduced costs, reduced sales prices, or expanding our market.

Savings.
Price matters, but we will not commoditize our products. We are not here to compete solely on price because price is an arbitrary number, and value is fundamental. Home & Kids Co. delivers savings relative to the broader market and therefore offers our customers better value and higher worth of these items. Through the more complex concept of value, we appeal to more buyers because, as customers, they have the exact needs, but different sets of circumstances, and we can transcend most of those circumstances.
A Simple Statement to Define a Purpose
To create happy homes and joyful childhoods.

Built on Backbone, Not Backpedaling
Our Core Values
We don’t cut corners or cave under pressure—because trust is earned when values hold, especially when it’s hard. Let’s be realistic—every company has a “values” page, and most are buzzwords strung together to look noble, with no intention of living them. We believe values only matter when they cost you something—and we choose to pay that price. Values are the compass that guides every decision, and to stand firm in them, especially when it’s difficult, is the courageous foundation of a company you can trust to build something meaningful.
We are happy to share ours with you and the principles that connect our values to our actions. These five values—Elevate, Truth, Refine, Equanimity, and Welcoming—work in concert to advance our Just Cause of bringing thoughtful, enduring design to every family while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusivity, and balanced growth.

Elevate.
Pursue Excellence Relentlessly
Continually striving for improvement in design, quality, and customer experience to raise the bar in everything we do.

Truth.
Cultivate Long-Term Relationships Through Radical Transparency
Commit to honesty and openness in all interactions, ensuring trust is built through consistent and transparent communication.

Refine.
Simplify to Strengthen
Focus on offering fewer, better options that enhance the customer experience and streamline our operations for maximum impact and benefit.

Equanimity.
Act with Calm Balance and Fair Perspective
We meet challenges and opportunities with steady composure, clear thinking, and impartial judgment. Equanimity means resisting reactive swings—whether caused by market trends, supply-chain shocks, or customer frustration—and instead choosing responses rooted in empathy, data, and long-term vision. A balanced mindset encourages respectful dialogue, better decisions, and healthier teams, ensuring that every interaction is guided by poise and consideration rather than haste, emotions, or bias.

Welcoming.
Create an Inviting, Inclusive Culture
Foster a culture of inclusivity, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued, both within our team and for our customers. We actively listen and respect different perspectives, creating a space where everyone’s voice matters.
Never compromise on your values and principles,

We Believe in What Homes Are Made Of
At Home & Kids Co., we don’t just sell furniture. We build pieces that hold space for real life. The kind of life where kids jump on couches, friends linger at the table after dessert, and rooms witness growth, loss, love, and every unspoken moment in between. We believe your home deserves things that are built with intention—not just assembled. Every stool, table, or mirror we offer isn’t perfect and none are, but it’s our best. And if it ever falls short, we’ll stand behind it—not with a script, but with a human. Because we’re not building transactions; we’re building trust.
Because We’re Playing the Infinite Game
This company wasn't started to cash in on trends or scale for an exit. We’re here to build something enduring—for our customers, our families, and the craft itself. That means we source carefully. We price honestly. We speak plainly. It means we say “no” more than “yes” and work twice as hard when no one’s looking. We’re smaller on purpose, personal by design, and proud of every hard decision we’ve made to stay that way. When you buy from us, you’re not just furnishing your home. You’re casting a vote for businesses that put soul before scale—and people before profit.
Welcome to Something Better
We know you have options. We know you’ve seen beautiful rooms and slick websites. But what we offer is different. What we offer is a relationship—a long one, if we’re lucky. We’ll tell you what’s in stock and what’s not. We’ll fix what needs fixing. We’ll show up when you need help and quietly celebrate when your order becomes a memory-making part of your home. That’s why people keep coming back. That’s why you might, too.
Who We Are Not
If you’re looking for the cheapest thing you can toss in a cart and forget where it came from—this isn’t it. If you crave fast furniture that’s soulless, disposable, and stamped out by the millions, you won’t like what we do. And if all you care about is a deal with no regard for the people, the effort, the art, reality, authenticity, or the long game—we’re probably not your people. We're not trying to win everyone. We're here for those who want their homes to mean something. If that’s not you, we thank you for your time.
